The Sfere necklace is the first in a long series of designer jewelry from the Milanese brand San Lorenzo, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1990. It was born almost playfully from a simple and traditional idea: the necklace is composed of the primary elements of silver spheres and a black or colored thread, with the addition of the San Lorenzo brand and the designers' signature. A consolidated and bourgeois type of jewelry like the string of pearls is reinvented in silver by the Scarpas. The thread itself is the surprise of this collection. It can be offered in various colors and becomes an integral part of the design, like the pearl, demonstrating that "service" elements can often hold surprises.
