TELLAP is a coffee tablewith the design aim of reinventing the use of material scraps from marble processing, transforming them into a furnishing accessory.
The TELLAP capsule collection aims to reinvent the use of scrap materials from marble processing, transforming them into furnishing accessories. It's a reinterpretation of a disposable object like the wooden pallet, which, through a material switch, is crafted from a noble material, transforming it into a deliberately and "needlessly" luxurious object.
A collector's piece, which, like a poetic and evocative sculpture, breaks away from the concept of an industrial product to enter the realm of art.
Its textural, aesthetic, and perceptual uniqueness is characterized by a strong sculptural and architectural character, where the natural stone strips are in direct relation to their joints, in an alternating play of solids and voids, a play of light and shade created by the presence or absence of the material. The heaviness and strength of the stone, which lends a sense of durability and sacredness to the object, is contrasted by the lightness provided by its internal voids, in an overall sense of suspension. A combination of techniques in which the stonework is assimilated to that of wood.
Unlike other natural materials, certain characteristics make marble even more unique and precious: gravity, translucency, reflection, sustainability, and territoriality are its unmistakable characteristics, as a noble and irreproducible material par excellence.
A furnishing accessory inspired by the transition that marble is the protagonist of, as the observer's attention is drawn back in time and space, making them reflect on the history and life of that material, which has been extracted, moved, worked in progressive phases, stacked, abandoned, and now recycled, until it arrives assembled in its new completeness.
Art, design, and architecture thus merge into a single project. TELLAP was born as a provocation: to defuse the concept of wooden pallets as recycled objects in furnishing solutions, not only outdoors, as a cost-effective but now predictable and banal design solution, a topic already widely researched and addressed in all its forms.
The coffee-table version is presented here, complemented by a custom-designed metal and marble wheel as an accessory, making it a coffee-table, a living room table for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Available in white Carrara marble, the most iconic and appreciated finish.
Alternatively, it is available in Bardiglio grey marble or absolute black slate stone, a zero-mile material as it comes directly from the quarries of our Ligurian hinterland.

The best-seller of the entire collection, it is exhibited at every collective exhibition or international event to which the DLA DESIGN LAB team is invited, interpreted as the most representative and iconic work of the brand.
